Sir John Stanley, 1481-1514

Sir John Stanley, 1481-1514

On the death of his father he succeeded to lands in Pipe, Haslowe and Statfold. He does not seem to have inherited the manor of Chipping Campden. For some reason Campden returned to Ann Stanley, daughter of Sir John Stanley (1447-1508), and then to her husband Christopher Savage.

Sir John married Margaret Gerard sometime in about 1499 and they had three children, John, Elizabeth and Isabel.

I have more information on this family, but there are no further mentions of the manor of Chipping Campden in this line.
