Stanley Origins
Albert E. Stanley

Albert was the son of Samuel John Stanley & Sarah Selina Denver and also brother of my grandfather Horace Stanley. Born in Aston Birmingham in 1901. He was baptised at the age of 15 at St. James’ in Aston at the same time as the son of his sister Gert (Leonard Francis Abbot).

He was an electrical engineer. In 1923 he married Irene Bond, again at St. James’ church in Aston.

The couple had two children.

    Supervisor at BL & lecturer
     
  • Ann Doreen
    Jewellery designer
    Married Howard Finch with two children Nigel & Michel
     

 

He won medals for high diving for the Midlands.  Competitions were always held at Woodcock St. baths, Aston. Played football for Aston Amateurs with his brother-in-law, Len Porter

Had a trial with Acrington Stanley.
